Multiple Auth attempts from Java iControl code

We have java code that connects to our LTM every 5 minutes to check pool status. This runs great for a while, but after some amount of time, this code that logs in only every 5 minutes starts showing auth attempts(in our RADIUS logs) multiple times a second. If we comment out the username and password for some time and then readd it to the code, the auth attempts stabilize again and it runs without issue for a while.

 

 

Does this sound reasonable? Could this be a bug or be code related? What is odd is that it happens simultaneously for multiple code sources.
