We have two LTM's ( Active and standby).
Our setup is like this that LTM's are hosted in 3rd party DC and they monitor LTM using some SNMP trap browser.
Problem is that when we put a new application on LTM like creating pools and VS it takes about couple of week after which it actually goes live so during this time VS and pools keeps on fluctuating. AS monitoring is done by 3 rd paryt DC team so every time we need to tell to ignore alerts till it goes to prod.
What i am thinking is to put some kind of monitor which keeps VS and pool up always or infact dont put any monitor. Will that be triggering any trap in case we fluctualte members in the pool ? Or if some one can suggest a better idea here.
Thanks
RAj

Hi Raj,
You ever thought of instead of having the LTM send you traps, you would go to it and poll the SNMP information. Traps are tricky because you have to wait for the unit to communication and it's more difficult to suppress because you simply don't want to manipulate anything on the LTM unless you have for the same of your change control process (assuming you have one).
So try polling and see how that works for you.
You can poll, CPU, Memory, Failover, Connections/sec, etc.
thanks,
CB
