Monitor current sessions per VIP using SNMP
Hello
We have been trying to find out how we can monitor the number of sessions using SNMP on BIGIP 4600 platform. Here is what I have tried so far.
- SNMP Walk on the base OID and unable to find which parameter refers to the number of connections.
- Used the F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB and then looked at the polled results, too many pages and did not find anything relavant
- I know I can get the info using TMSH but only looking for a SNMP based solution
Preferably looking for an OID which I can do a walk on and get number of sessions or to find a way to find the OID.

Creating custom MIB can solve issue as per article but best to connect with F5 support team.

I think running snmpwalk against the ltmVirtualServStatClientCurConns OID (.iso.org.dod.internet.private.) will probably do the trick. Since it's part of a table, you'll have to append the complete name of the actual virtual server you want to monitor.
