Migrating config from v9.2.3 (BIGIP 1500) to v11.4.1 (BIGIP 2000s)

For 9.2.3 to 11.4.1 the config files have undergone significant changes. If you have the IPs and network ports to spare I'd do the following:

1. Power up the 2000
2. Grant the 2000 self-IPs on the same VLANs as the 1500.
3. Re-create the VIPs ( use an alternate address ) and test against those VIPs.
4. During a cutover time, swap the IPs on the VIPs between the 1500 and the 2000.

Someone else might know of some conversion tools. I have not heard of any to do this.

Thanks Jason .. The challenge is I have quite a lot of VIPs/iRules to recreate.

I had the impression that we could just import the old config or ucs file to new box (IMHO, F5 should provide the tools to do conversion).

The best option is to upgrade the configuration from the 9 code to the 11.4 code using lab boxes and them import upgraded configuration on the new hardware. But this requires additional hardware.
