LTM Pair Balancing to a remote server's pool

Hi,

I would like to make sure that this config can work with Viprion2400.

A server_1 sends SOAP provisioning requests to four servers. Two of them are collocated with the Viprion pair, the other two in a remote site and they will be reachable by means of routing (L3 VPN). The proposed configuration is:

Server_1 sends the SOAP request to VIP-1 which is a virtual server configured on Viprion. This VS (VIP-1) balances traffic between the four servers. SNAT will be configured on this VS (VIP-1) so that the source IP address (Server_1) is translated into VIP-2. So that, the four servers send always the replies back to VIP-2 via the LTM (Viprion).

Is there any issue that should be taken into account to achieve that this config works? Is there any inconvenient for this config to work?

Thanks a lot in advanced for your feedback! Best Regards, Mario

  • Not sure if you can use a VIP as a Snat source. Why do you want to translate to a VIPto begin with? Why not use a Snat on the egress network?
