LTM mirrored vip not mirroring all connections

I have a super basic vip on port 22. About the only thing configured on it are the basics plus connection mirroring. No persistence. Automapping.

 

When I look at the amount of current connections, either through gui or tmsh, there is a discrepancy in the number of connections. About 1/3 less on the standby device. In my lab the connections mirrored equally, so not sure why there would be a difference. Could it be that those missing connections were established before mirroring was turned on?

    Well I kind of answered that last question. I also tested this in the lab and only connections established after mirroring is enabled are duplicated. However since I don't know when mirroring was enabled compared to when these sessions were opened, I have to assume that mirroring was already on. So then would there be any other reason why mirrored connections wouldn't come over to the standby ltm?

    this is true for full proxy virtual server (e.g. tcp profile). fastl4 virtual server can re-mirror. i do not know why number of connections is not equal but if you want, you may try fastl4 virtual server (i guess you do not need full proxy) and see if it is better.
