LTM MGT UI authentication - LDAPS Option - Start TLS

Good Morning All,

 

Does someone more information on the difference between 'Enabled' and 'Start TLS' for the LDAPS settings?

 

UI - System - Users - Authentication - Remote Active Directory.

    I believe you're referring to the SSL settings ?

     

    • SSL: Disabled - SSL will not be used (so LDAP, rather than LDAPS)
    • SSL: Enabled - SSL will be used (LDAPS)
    • SSL: Start TLS - The initial connection to the LDAP server will be unencrypted, then we send a STARTTLS command to cause the rest of the sesison to switch to using SSL (TLS)

    I note that our built-in help page appears to missing the Start TLS entry, so I'm going to send up a request to get that fixed.
