NimbostratusLTM chained with GTM : Hostname as pool member
Hello ,
I have an issue with a new need, i have an LTM VS that has a pool member which is in a GSLB (GTM WIP) system. i havn't possibility to enter hostnames in a pool member interface and to make the LTM do DNS resolving based on this hostname.
on the WIP of the GTM device, ther is an Active/active DNS load sharing.
Is there a simple way to deal with this kind of situation ?
Configuring DNS servers on the LTM and make the LTM lookup dynamically the hostname and forwarding traffic to the IP/port resulting backend.

Hi Fulmetal, I'm curious to see why you might do this ? Maybe if you explain what you might be able to achieve by doing this, we might be able to suggest an alternative approach. To answer your question about using a hostname as a pool member, I don't think this is possible, but we can select a specific pool member based on certain criteria that we find in the request.
