Lost root password - single user mode and error during changing

Hi,

I lost my root password, so i started system in single user mode, and type mount -a passwd root ... and i got error "error: unable to obtain slot from LOP : send to lopd failed [lopd addr:/var/run/lopdsvr] [client addr:/var/run/hwctl.getslot.sock] (errno:2) No such file or directory"

Anyone can help? B

  • Hi -=Bhattman=-,

Thanks for reply, but I tried that...and every other solutions... :) I got this error when i try chande password for root (in single user mode). When my bigip is starting there is no error. I think there is only one solution: clean install...

  • it is due to the new password is unable to synchronize to lop (lights-out processor) in single-user mode. the workaround is to change password again in multi-user mode.

ID441013 - root password change in single user mode reports lop error, fail sync

  • In that case a clean install might work. Did you reach out to F5 support itself?
