Logs in /var/log/ltm

Hi! Is there any document where is descripted all the type of logs that can be found on the /var/log/ltm file?

We are seeing there are a lot of events that have an internal ID (like 01060111:3: Open SSL error), but we can't find a table with all the IDs availables and their interpretation..

Thanks!

  • Hi Franco,

please check the SNMP MIB files and the alert.conf file for a list of errors.

But it will probably of little help in this context.

Regarding the specific issue: it´s very likely there is a failing https monitor causing the issue.

You can check it by looking up your pool statistics and run a selective trace (ssldump) for failing poolmembers monitored via https (requires SSL connection using OpenSSL libraries).

    Thanks, Stephan

  • Hi Stephan, thanks for your answer, please keep in mind this is a general question, as we can't find a document detailing all the possible errors that we can found on the /var/log/ltm file.

For example, which error will F5 send if a power supply is unplugged? Or if you have a disk failure, or a License issue?

Is there any doc where you can find all the possible errors that can generate F5?

    Thanks!
