logging of config changes - BIG-IP 11.4

Is is possible to enable logging of config changes (made from tmsh or web gui) in F5 BIG-IP TMOS 11.4? While one possibility is to export SCF and do a diff, the requirement in this case is to log any config changes in real time, including the date/time and user who made the change.

thanks!

  • Hi mate!

I asked the same question a while ago and got some good answers. Perhaps they're to some use for you too?

  • Is this what you're after? http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/tmos-concepts-11-3-0/tmos_logging.html Under the heading: "Logging BIG-IP system configuration changes (audit logging)"
  • yes, that is exactly what I am after. specifically, Audit Logging is how this is done. To configure: System > Logs > Configuration, and change "Audit Logging MCP" from disable to [enable, verbose, debug] depending on the log level desired.
