I am not familiar with OHS, but I know that is a Web server as apache!!!
If your backend server don't need OHS to work, you can do without for the following reason:
- with F5 you can manage advance LB.
- you can manage persistence, Inteligent Health check
- you can do compression, acceleration (caching) ...
And especially you have a point of failure in less. you have no interest in cascading 2 solutions. unless you have a technical imperative.
In all case I advise you to Place F5 in Frontal (For possible evolutions):
- APM : perimeter security
- ASM : WAF (ddos protection)
- hardware compression (If you have hardware device)
- SSL Interception (Hardware too, if you have hardware device).
- ...
