Load balancing cache servers in transparent mode using BigIP

Hello,

In the telecom network, I am dealing with, I've installed BigIP 3400 LTM (TMOS 9.4.5) inline between the carrier's L3 switch and internet gateway router. The traffic first hits the L3 switch (Cisco 6509) then goes to BigIP and then to the Internet gateway router (Cisco 7304). We planning to introduce cache servers connected to BigIPs (for load balancing purposes). We expect that all HTTP (port 80, 82, 8080) hits the cache servers before heading to internet and while returning from the internet, it should hit the cache servers before going to the subscriber.

The caching would be in transparent mode, i.e. the IP address of subscriber would be maintained end to end. No Cache virtual server IP address will be used while opening up a TCP connection with the server in the internet.

In the above mentioned scenario can I use HTTP profile on BigIP?? What would be the recommended virtual server to be used? For sending all HTTP traffic to cache servers first what should I do on BigIP and Cisco 6509??

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sagar Shah.
