Load Balancing between CNAMES (GTM question)

So we are evaluating a CDN carrier. We currently CNAME our requests for images to our CDN provider.

 

 

images.floop.com CNAME images.floop.edge.akamai.net

 

 

 

We want to test, in parallel, in a manner we can control (via ratio) another CDN. Theoretically we would create a wideip: images.floop.com and have it load balance between CNAME pools.

 

 

I am hesitant to define servers in GTM as CNAME, it seems they really just want IP addresses but I cant imagine this doesnt exist....
