Load balancing a Cassandra Cluster

Hi, I have a need to load balance an 8 node Cassandra cluster inside my network. Http requests will come from other nodes on my network but need to be load balanced to the Cassandra servers I would put behind the load balancer. My first question, has anyone done this before? Any recommendations or lessons learned?
