Latest Firepass SDK version?

Hi,

A customer of mine is interested in testing a custom client app with their Firepasses. The download page has a link for the Firepass SDK. But it's from 2004 and shows support only for Firepass v4.x and 5.x. Is there an updated SDK for 6.x? I assume there isn't and the current SDK will work for 6.x with a current 6.x dll. Is this correct?

Are there any plans for updating the SDK? Or has this been deprecated in favor of TMOS based iControl offerings?

Thanks,

The current SDK should work just fine with 6.x -- an updated client SDK for EDGE (backwards compatible with Firepass) is available from:

  • The edge gateway client does work with the Firepass, except for a few annoying gui bugs.

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the info. What kind of issues have you seen? Have you built something for production use? If so what was the purpose?

I'm hunting for examples for a customer of establishing an SSL VPN connection to a 6.1.0 Firepass appliance including prelogon checks for a client cert and two factor Radius/AD auth.

    Thanks,

  • We are still stuck on 6.0.3, moving to 6.1.0 is going to be a large task. Any change in client controls can be a make or break for us.

With that being said I noticed some odd results when a connection is disconnected. It takes an extremely long time for it to recognize the disconnect. The ability to remove the auto reconnect and so on.
