key based / token based authentication for SAML resources

I'd like to use our built-in intranet application to have links to SAML resources. Currently they are webtop enabled but I'd prefer to bypass that altogether,I would like to avoid any forms or NTLM authentication. So Oauth came to mind - natively I believe the APM module doesn't support it. Anything else I can do to provide some form of key based authentication?
