Is there any way to quiesce based on HTTP sessions not TCP flows?
I read the article that makes use of "Receive Disable String" (F5 Friday: Gracefully Scaling Down) to quiesce based on TCP flows. Will this apply to HTTP sessions or is there some other way to accomplish this?
Basically I am looking to maintain active HTTP sessions not active TCP connections. Have the ability to quiesce a node and let new HTTP sessions appear on the remaining nodes that are meant to receive new sessions. I would like for existing HTTP sessions to have the ability to create new connections for an exisitng HTTP session on a quiesced server.
Thank You

An HTTP session is an object that is defined for the lifetime of a client's TCP session. When a client connects to Traffic Server, it opens up a TCP connection and sends one or more HTTP requests. An individual request and its response comprise the HTTP transaction. The HTTP session begins when the client opens the TCP connection and ends when the connection closes.
I guess, you can't eliminate TCP session from HTTP session Object.

Thank You Samir for your response in this case the HTTP Session spans multiple TCP connections. In my description above I mentioned that it is not a flow ( tcp connection ) It is any number of connections or flows that are encapsulated by the HTTP session which maps to a record entry in the LTM. My concern is the HTTP Session manages several TCP connections. Once I quiesce a server will the LTM allow a pre-existing HTTP session to create new tcp connections to the quiesed server.
Thanks Samir
Please let me know your thoughts and the same for other takers of my question.
