Is it possible to restrict SNMP to v2c only? (ie disable v1)

I have to make the BigIP compliant with customer policies, and it states that SNMP v1 should not be used. I found no way to disble only SNMP v1 from the BigIP Configuration. In other words, keep v2c up and disable v1.

Can this be done?

Thanks.

  • It doesn't look like the GUI offers this capability. Nor does anything jump out at me in the output of "tmsh -a help sys snmp". It looks like BIG-IP uses NET-SNMP behind the curtains -- configuration files are in /config/snmpd/. You might be able to hand-edit something into that if net-snmp provides a way to disable v1.
