Is it possible to create a Single Pool with multiple ports ?
Am getting this error when i try to create a Pool with Any service ports
01070622:3: The monitor /Common/tcp has a wildcard destination service and cannot be associated with a node that has a zero service
is there anyway we can create single pool which supports multiple ports ?
we have the requirements for using more that 50 ports , and in the VIP config we can create a single vip with add the required ports from port list.
How we can accomplish this Or creating a multiple pools and VIP's with different ports is the only option .
Any help would be appreciated .Thanks in advance

You can create a pool with wildcard port.
But you cannot associate a monitor which expects a port, like default tcp. So your solution is to create a custom monitor with alias port configured.
This way you will use a specific port for monitoring.
Another way is to apply icmp monitor.

Thanks for your earlier response. I have a quick clarification regarding our design:
We want to configure a single pool with multiple backend servers, where each server listens on multiple ports. When creating a custom monitor, we need to specify a port number in the monitor configuration. My question is — if we configure an alias port in the monitor, how will it support the other ports which are not included in the alias port configuration?
On the VIP side, I understand that we can create a single VIP with multiple ports using the Port List option in the VIP configuration, which works as expected.
Could you please confirm the recommended approach for monitoring in this scenario?

You can either create separate pool and monitors and the use irule to select the appropriate pool or create multiple monitors with alias port and apply all of the same wildcard pool.
If you need to monitor all ports the best approach is to have separate pools and monitors. Because if you apply multiple monitors in one pool the pool will be marked down if any of the monitor fails.

Hi, you can use the Feature --> Shared Objects ›› Port Lists -- to define your single vip via GUI (I use TMOS 17.1.2)
