Is it possible to configure an ICAP server per RDOM/partition rather than on just RDOM0?
Hi All,
Is it possible to configure an ICAP server per RDOM/partition rather than on just RDOM0? We ask this as we need to keep logical separation between RDOM/partitions.
Cheers,
Matt

Are you asking because it doesn't work in your environment, or just a general question? I'm not aware of any limitations on ICAP server pools to restrict the use of route domains.

Well when we looked at adding the ICAP server it only gave us the option to add it to the common partition and there was no option to add it to the individual partitions so just wanted to conform it is a limitation really.

How are you defining this ICAP server? LTM, ASM or SSLO?

We are defining the icap servers as ASM.

ASM defines the ICAP server in RD0 and will only communicate using RD0. If the ICAP server is in another RD it's possible to configure a virtual server in RD0 with a pool containing the ICAP server in the other RDx as a pool member. Assign the virtual server as the ASM ICAP server to send forward the requests to the RDx member.
The other option is to use LTM Content Adaptation profiles.
