Is an iRule the best way?

Hello together,

 

I have the following question to the specialists.

 

I have configured a VIP (DNS = MediaCenterOpenMedia) for http and two realserver in a pool (bcs-vpmsmcc-p1 und -p2) - works well. Now, I should redirect the request to one of my realserver and change the URL: from http://MediaCenterOpenMedia/Default.aspx?id=vpms://P7S1-PAM-PROD/VIDEO/4711 to http://bcs-vpmsmcc-p1/MediaCenterOpenMediaA/Default.aspx?id=vpms://P7S1-PAM-PROD/VIDEO/4711 ..the value 4711 is variable, will change with each request.

 

What is the best way?

    if the only change is the hostname and the value 4711 is not something you need to change in the redirection, then an http class (pre v11.4) or a policy (v11.4+) is the way to go.

    Hi Jason,

     

    thanks for answering. We use Version 10.1.0 - and currently no way for upgrading the system.

     

    Any other idea?
