iRule to remove SMTP Server Banner Messages?

Hi all,

 

I'm just wondering if it's possible to remove/modify the Server Banner messages from Nodes (Microsoft CAS) when loadbalancing SMTP.

 

My problem is, when using SMTP and STARTTLS with 11.6 the connecting Mail-GW see's the Node real FQDN and IP presented from the server banner test. And in certain scenarios the sending Mail-GW will not be able to verify the server identity (CN in certificate is different of course than real server name) and will not perform a SSL-Handshake.

 

Any ideas? Thanks & Regards Lukas

    Thanks for your fast feedback. Looks not to bad actually :-)

     

    I will try it in my lab this evening. One question could please upload more detailed screenshot for SMTP Header fiels from Wireshark (per Packet)?
