irule for apology whilst allowing existing users to drain
I have a one member pool associated with a https VIP. I want to switch over to a new IP graefully by 1) Putting up an apology page that new users will see until we make the DNS change and 2) Allow existing connections to drain out using the existing source IP persistence with timeout 30 mins.
Essentially we will give existing users about 30 mins to 1 hour to complete whilst presenting new users with an apology and then we will switch DNS
Because the VIP is set up as pass through SSL we also have I dont see how the SSL handshake can take place at the VIP for the apology to be displayed. If I change the VIP to have a clinet side ssl profile presumably this affects existing users

Hi Tom, Below are the OPTIONS with Source based persistence enabled on virtual server 1) Without iRule: Disable the pool member, old users with persistence will be allowed but for new user TCP reset will be send.
2) With iRule: Check for persistence record in HTTP_REQUEST if persistence is valid forward request to pool member. If there is no persistence respond with an Apology page.
