Jul 03, 2006Installation Issues
On first installation, only .NET 1.1 was installed. The iRule Editor only installed ODBC and stopped. After finding reference to .NET 2.x as a requirement, I uninstalled ODBC, installed .NET 2.x, and ran the iRule Editor installation again. Again, it installed ODBC and quit.
Help?

- I'm a bit confused. The install should install v2.0 of the framework, not v1.1. Also, there is no requirement to install ODBC. In fact, ODBC is a core part of the operating system so I find it hard to understand why this install would install something that is already present. When I go into my control panel's add/remove programs, I see no way to uninstall ODBC. How exactly did you do that.
I'll try to get a zip uploaded that has just the runtime image for those with install issues.

Uninstall was accomplished by running iRulerSetup.exe (1,224,704 bytes), again, and selecting "Remove All" as the installation option when ODBC setup was spawned. - Stephen_Davis_1

Did some more testing and this may be an issue with the decompression engine (on this machine) called by the executable... Can you post or send a version of the installer that is not self-extracting? - I've posted the .zip version of the install. You'll have to download it, decompress the zip file, and run setup from that directory.
The link is on the iRule Editor Downloads page (Click here) in the "Download it Now!" module titled "F5 iRule Editor Install Zip Archive".
Good luck!

The zipped version worked just fine. Thank you.
Will iRule Editor support proxies at some point? - Marcus_Slawik_8Historic F5 AccountHello,
I have the same problem, and would like to have this ZIP file...

Thx,
schwiddy - The link for the install zip archive is now on the iRule Editor site.
