IIS6 & Integrated Windows Authentication

Im currently in the process of building an extensive intranet system, which will be the gateway for all internal users web applications. It is for this reason why I wish to utilise are already existing bigip infrastructure to redirect users request to application "splash" pages in the event that the intranet goes down, this is to aviod the intranet becoming a percieved single point of failure.

The real question is will a bigip pool allow IIS Integrated windows authentication to function correctly? I have setup a basic proof of concept so far with no luck. IE is not passing the www-authenicate to the webserver. I am no bigip expert, and would appreicate any guidance.

Thanks in advance

  • After further investigation, the problem was PEBKAC.

But can confirm that Integrated windows authentication (IWA) works within a BIG app pool
  • Can you explain a little more? I am having trouble getting IWA working with a single pool member.
