iControlREST access to F5 ltm "401 Authorization Failed"

We have 11.6.0 HF1 on our test box and trying to run a icontrolREST against our box but getting an 401 error. We have a local account with "Admin" rights and tmsh console access but we still get a 401 error. Any ideas?

    Are you using token authentication as noted here ?

     

    If you want to use username/password without token authentication, you need to be in 12.x code version.
