iControl "get_tmstat: tmstat_sample not ready. Statsd may not be running." errors

I'm occasionally getting iControl errors of the following form:

bigsuds.ServerError: Server raised fault: 'Exception caught in System::urn:iControl:System/Statistics::get_ip_statistics() 
Exception: Common::OperationFailed 
primary_error_code : 17238421 (0x01070995) 
secondary_error_code : 0 
error_string : 01070995:4: get_tmstat: tmstat_sample not ready. Statsd may not be running.'

This appears to be a transient failure. Anyone else seeing this?
