iApp XenApp and multiple partitions

Dear all,

I'm running a the version 11.3 HF7 and using the last iApp template for Citrix (f5.citrix_xenapp_xendesktop.2012_06_27).

On my F5 cluster, I'm using multiple partitions, when selecting a specific partition and creating a new Application Service for XenApp, the new application is being creating on another partition.

Does anyone experienced an issue like this ?

Thank you !!

    HI Janek,

I am interested in investigating this but have not been able to reproduce. Can you post a few details, such as what options you are selecting in the iApp, what permission profile the user has that is creating the iApp instance, and what objects are being placed in the wrong partition? Also, does the user creating the iApp have "all" partition access or only a specific partition and is the wrong partition equal to the partition the user has rights too?

  • Hello Greg,

    Thank you for replying.

The user who is performing the task has an Administror Role and have access to all the partition.

About the partition, i have 5 partitions : Common, A, B, C, D. I'm trying to use the iApp to create a new application service on the partition C for example. The application service and and all the objects are being creating on the partition B even when partition C have active at the moment of the configuration. All the objects, nodes are new and not existing anywhere else in the configuration.

It's mean that i'm seeing the Application Services from the partition B and the node are also in the partition.

Regarding the option used on the iApp :

    • Assistance Options : Show full inline assistance
    • Configuration mode : Basic
    • Will you be using APM or Edge Gateway to securely proxy application traffic and authenticate users into your Citrix environment? : No
    • What is the Active Directory NetBIOS Domain Name used for your Xen servers? : domain.com

    • Web Interface Servers and XML Broker Servers are new node objects

    Thank you

Are you able to reproduce this behavior using another template, such as the f5.http iApp that is shipped with TMOS? It seems to be something unique to your BIG-IP, if you haven't already, please open a support ticket to troubleshoot.

    Thank you, Greg

  • Hello Greg,

You're right. I tried with a template shipped with TMOS and it worked, i mean the Application Service was installed in the right partition without any issue. So i guess the issue is located with the new template installed.

    Thank you for your help.

There is a RC posted on devcentral that might work out better for you, among other feature adds, it includes support for storefront.

  • Just a quick update on my issue.

It seems that the problem was related to my browser. I was using Firefox. May be it was because of my browser settings or temporary files. With other browsers it worked fine
