HTTPS Monitor chaning SID in send URI

I have a site which has undergone some changes where a session state ID is now inserted into the URL. This is now breaking my Health Monitor which does a get on a specific url. The session state ID is likely to change each time.

Is there any way of inserting some sort of 'wildcard' into the url in the send string?

https://my.domain.com/folder1/sessionstateid/monitor.aspx

  • You can't use parameters in the HTTP monitor's send string. Your best bet is probably to take this to an external script monitor. Where does the state ID come from?

  • The monitor.aspx file has some text in it. We are simply making sure that the site is able to return that page and that no issues have occurred on IIS on that site.

Right, but if I understand your scenario, the URI path to that monitor.aspx actually changes based on a dynamic sessionstateid. If that's still the case, how do you know what that sessionstateid value will be?
