All you would need to do is set the receive string on your HTTP monitor to match something on the returned page that you would expect to be there if it's available. For example, if the node presents a splash page has text saying "Welcome to My Company, please login below", then you could match on any or all of the text within that string.
The default HTTP monitor that you're using now (with no receive string configured) should report the node up if it receives a response of any kind. If this monitor is failing, it may indicate a larger problem. Either with the communications path in between the BIG-IP and the server, or the server itself.
