HPOS load balancing using F5
Hello,
We are in the process of configuring a floating IP for HA and failover for our HP Output server application that runs on RHEL 6.5 servers. We are considering a active-passive cluster. HP Output Server is a print solution that has a mysql backend and it talks to the various client application using pdpr which is similar to lp or lpr for print daemon. What is the best practice on configuring this floating IP between 2 Linux servers? What should be the criteria on creating the application to switch to the standby server in case of issue on the primary server.

to properly configure the health monitor, i prefer to address all important ports which are mandatory to keep service up, then create a a custom health monitor based on addressed ports
