take the second link, this is what we call an IAPP.
- download the file f5backup.zip
- extract the file f5backup.tcl (this is the iapp template)
- import the template : menu iapps/template click import and select the tcl file
- deploy the template : menu iapps/Application services create
- give a name, select template F5.automated_backup.V2.0
you'll have a gui walk through to create your backup policy, no code.

It might be bit expensive option, using F5 Enterprise Managers. We have been using them to manage some 30 odd LTM and pair of GTM all Virtual editions including the EMs. All good so far some 2 years now.
