Mar 30, 2010How to disable a Virt Addr when all pool members down
Hi,
I want to make a configuration that disable virtual address when all nodes belong to selected pool for this virt address are down. When all members are down, virtual address becomes down not disable. Is it possible to disable it automatically with a configuration change ?
Thanks

Hi,
There isn't a configuration option I know which allows this. You could open a request for enhancement with F5 Support.

I'm guessing the use case would be to prevent LTM from answering ARP and/or ICMP requests for the VIP when no VS is up. The alertd script seems like a possible solution...

This is a good use case for tmsh scripts being able to kick off from syslog events. - JRahm

Open a case and reference CR 139395 if you want the ability to kick scripts off in tmsh based on patterns from syslog messages.
