how HTTP Profile works in VIP

I am starting my carrier in F5. Can somebody let me know what is HTTP profile in VIP and how it works ??

Thanks Nathan, when i try to add Http profile on a https vip the traffic gets break and when i remove Http profile, it started to work properly. when i try to find answer for this the answer was to do not use HTTP profile. technically what is the actual reason Note:The VIP dont have SSL termination Thanks in advance for your reply
