Nov 11, 2008How does F5 handle HTTPS requests to non standard ports?
I have a virtual server set up with a client certificate to handle requests for HTTPS/SSL on port 8700. When the F5 sends the request back to the web servers, is the "S" dropped from the header?
For example, from the Internet I would enter https://servername:8700, but would the F5 send http://servername:8700 to the web server?
Thanks.

If you are not doing serverside re-encryption (with a Server SSL profile), then yes, LTM will send http requests to the back end. If port translation is turned on (it is by default), then it will use whatever port is configured on the pool member.
