How do I specify line count for LTM log version 11.3

When I do a show sys log ltm I get the following:

root@(aln-bigip-vc1-1)(cfg-sync In Sync)(/S1-green-P:Active)(/Common)(tmos) show sys log ltm

 Sys::Log

Maximum line count (10000) exceeded

 Specify a narrower range or increase maximum

root@(aln-bigip-vc1-1)(cfg-sync In Sync)(/S1-green-P:Active)(/Common)(tmos)

How do I clear that buffer or make it to where I can see the log entries?

  • Kevin,

    Good call. I'm new to tmsh and how would I increase the line count or do I do a log-rotate and move on?

  • I'm honestly not sure how to increase the maximum. Unless someone else knows, I'd do the log rotate.

  • Maybe not same as default increasing line count, but this just worked for me when seeing previously the same error. 'line count (10000) exceeded'

     show /sys log ltm lines 11000

    So, maybe just demanding more lines is what it means to increase?
