Mar 25, 2008How are changes applied to the configuration?
Hi!
I'm new here, and I already got questions! Here we go:
When I make change to, say, an http profile that is already assigned to one or more Virtual Servers, how is this change applied to the runtime environment.
Example:
http_test profile is assigned to http_test_VS. In the profile editor I update the profile with a Fallback Host address and I check the X-Forwarded_For checkbox.
Question: What happens to my traffic that is flowing through the BIG-IP? Is it handled transparently or are user transactions affected by these updates? I couldn't find anything in F5's documentation, which I found extremely strange....
Thanks!
Tim

This is probably more appropriate for the advanced config sub-forum, but I'll give it a shot. My understanding is that changes made to profiles are applied to new connections, existing connections continue to use the prev. settings. - I believe that is correct as well.
