Help with WAN connection setup

Hello All,

Need help setting up WAN link between two F5s. Below is a simple network diagram of our setup.

Internal LAN -->F5 ---> L3 switch --->WAN ---> L3 Switch ---> F5 ---> Internal LAN

IP address as follows:

LAN 172.16.0.0/16 -->F5 self IP 192.168.0.1/30 ---> L3 Switch 192.168.0.2/30 --> WAN ---> L3 Switch 193.168.0.2/30 --> F5 self IP 193.168.0.1/30 ---> Internal LAN 172.17.0.0/16

In F5 one I have default router as follows :

Anything destined for 172.17.0.0/16 will use default route 192.168.0.2

In F5 two I have default router as follows :

Anything destined for 172.16.0.0/16 will use default route 193.168.0.2

Now I think I will need to create forwarding VS and this is where I think I need help.

When creating VS do I need to use SNAT? Is this is the right way to do this WAN setup?

I am using F5 version 11.4.1 and 11.6.x

Any help with this will highly appreciated.

Thanks

  • Issue is resolved. No SNAT is required. I must have one of the rule setup incorrectly. Now everything seems to be working.
