Application owner wants me to distribute HTTPS requests between web servers using custom HTTP header "x-client-r-id" value? The header value is GUID that should be hashed and converted to "1" or "2"...

There are a few questions that address similar concern like this one. You would have to explain if you are looking to persist based on header value or load balance based on the header value. If you are looking to load balance based on the header value, you can potentially look at the specific value and load balance. Try this too.
