Jul 28, 2008Health Monitor + Windows Firewall
Hi all,
hopefully a quick question with an easy answer!. I have two nodes [i.e Two windows 2003 server] which were monitored using the icmp health monitor. However, our security team is not happy with it and have asked that we enable the Windows Firewall on that machine and thus turn of icmp traffic.
Now i was trying another health monitor [tcp echo] but with the Windows 2003 Firewall activated the Health Monitor is marking the member has down. So the question is: on which port the tcp echo operates in order for me to enable this port on the window firewall?
Thank is advance.

Is it possible in windows firewall to close off ICMP for all nodes by default, but allow the F5's to do it still? (Most firewalls will let you have that level of granularity, but I don't do windows).
