Hi Yoshio. I recently completed a number of software migrations from 9.3.1 directly to 10.2.0, and also moved hardware platforms from 6400 to 6900 at the same time. During the hardware migration, that's exactly what I did. I made sure the new target platform had the same software version, created a UCS on the old platform, and installed it on the new.
