Hard Drive replacement between LTMs
Hi, one of our LTM 3400 units is not functioning and is giving fatal error, unfortunately we don't have an old backup of the configs. My question is if I would be able to take hard drive from this affected unit and just install in the newly delivered RMA from F5 - would that work and should provide me old configs or would it not allow me to activate the device? Please advise.

you are already in the RMA process, why not ask F5 support about this?
i would say if your HDD is fine this should work (but don't know if this supported / allowed by F5, so ask them), the licensing will be an issue anyway as the serial changes but RMA team should take care of that in the background.

do they allow you to take off the unit cover?

Thanks a lot guys for the quick response. Just FYI, this unit that went bad was a stand alone and not having a backup config is really hurting us since I'm not sure if just replacing HD would do the magic but will ask F5 support regarding that (doesn't license key use HD as one of the variables?)

hard drive has nothing to do with license.
