Nov 30, 2012GTMs Reporting Time difference between themselves
Hi,
One of our GTMs has the following log entries.
Time difference between GTM f5-gtm1 and me is 77 seconds -- Make sure NTP is running and GTM times are in sync
NTP is configured but how can I check its functioning, has anyone else seen this problem and come across any fixes?
Thanks

There's a couple of things you can do;
1) Use tcpdump
2) Use ntpq, then command associations, check 'reach' is yes, use the peers command to check your servers etc. etc. - Dazzla_20011

Think I will try restarting the ntpq service, any potential impact when doing this? Also will the BIG-IP use the management interface or TMM interface to communicate with the NTP servers. - What_Lies_Bene1

The service is ntpd (the tool is ntpq). I don't believe it'll have an affect but I'm not too familiar with GTM so couldn't say for sure. The interface used will depend on the routing you have setup. If you don't want it going out the management interface you'll need to setup a specific static route to use whatever interface is required.
