Dec 13, 2007GTM topology loadbalancing
Hi all,
I encounter the problem on gtm loadbalancing based on topology.
my configuration is below:
Datacenter : A , B , C , D
Servers : server@A, server@B, server@C and server@D
pool1 : Topology (prefered), round robin (alternate)
pool1's member : server@A, server@B, server@C and server@D.
wideip1 : www.test.com, pool-> pool1
in my topology configuration, i want user A to go Datacenter A for server@b while user B to datacenter B for server@B. it is the same for user C and D.
while user E will go to only datacenter A and B.
i create the region_A_B and include datacenter A and B to it. then i added a topology region fro the LDNS source is user E, the destination will be region_A_B (either server@A and server@B).
however, what turn out is the DNS use the alternate method for loadbalancing the pool instead of using topology and os can't give me the expected result.
it seems that datacenter in region can't be assigned to be the destination of topology region.
- Deb_Allen_18Historic F5 AccountIt sounds like the rest of the topology map is working as expected -- it only fails for user E?

Topology defining in GTM
first step is to define the Regions. eg. x.x.x.0/24 subnet will be called region east/anyname you want to give y.y.y.0/ will go to a region called west/someother name of the region.
Next step would be to define your topology routing based on the weight for each region.

also doesn't hurt to check the solution sol10434
