need to control a cname response from a GTM pool

Do you mean to say:

I need to specify a response to queries to the wide_ip when the query_type is CNAME ?

Would something like this work: 

 
when DNS_REQUEST {
  if {  [DNS::rrtype] eq "CNAME"  } {
    cname "www.mycompany.com"
  }
}
