GTM design for two DC
Having 2 listeners only does not separate the internal or external requests. The wide ips have no link to the listener, and the list of wide ips will be available to any of those listeners.
So, if I target the external listener asking for an internal FQDN, GTM will give me the private IP. Of course, a normal user will never do that, but is just to show you that the 2 listeners is not a true separation.
I have a project with something similar, and there are multiple options, including iRules, bind, topology, etc...
Can you provide more information about your DNS resolution requirements? Provide examples, it does not need to be the real domains, mainly so I can understand if is the same for external and internal.
