GTM and traditional DNS

Is it a must to have some DNSs behind GTM or we can have GTM solely instead of using any traditional DNS?

    Hi Shahrzad,

     

    you can use GTM to balance incoming DNS traffic to a pool of authoritative nameservers and intercept only for queries matching a WideIP.

     

    You can use GTM as well as authoritative name server.

     

    Traditionally GTM wasn´t placed inline and got requests due to delegation (via CNAME) only.

     

    With DNS Express F5 has added the ability for GTM to act as authoritative name server as well.
