Hi ,

 

CNAMES or ALIAS are created to shorten the FQDN instead of entering the complete URL .

 

i assume , Its not required in all casees to create a subdomain for a WIP , but most of the origanizations has multiple domains apart from the WIP subdomain .

 

Becase in few cases organization needs resolution from direct DNS server insted of GTM , so they create a subdomain so that they can get the resolution only required WIP names , not all.
