Is BIGIP-LTM in fact a firewall? It doesn't explicitly state that but it sure feels like one. Just for my own curiosity.

LTM has always had packet filtering rules, and as early as somewhere in v10 has been ICSA-certified. AFM adds a stateful firewall characteristic (among other things) that brings it inline with the more mainstream firewall products. Above and beyond that, the BIG-IP platform is a default deny system.
